[VIDEO] Help support a documentary film ‘Everybody Street’

Street photography has always been a popular source of enjoyment for lovers of documentary photography, and for some it has been their never-ending daily passion. Since the inception of digital, street photography has almost become a common part of our lives with more documentation of ‘anything and everything’ than every before. Whether it be with an SLR, rangefinder or even the latest camera-phone like the iPhone 4S, life on the streets of New York has never been more exciting to capture.

Among the world’s enthusiasts, are professionals and dedicated photographers that take nothing more seriously than capturing a piece of time in the open public. Director/Photographer, Cheryl Dunn is seeking finance through Kickstarter, to complete her film featuring some of the world’s best street photographers in the Mecca of street shooting cities – New York. Kickstarter is an online threshold pledge system for funding creative projects and has had some amazing results, allowing artists like Cheryl to accomplish their dreams to share with the world. Take a look at the video for yourself and get on board – we did!

Hello photographers, photography enthusiasts, lovers of history and New York City. My name is Cheryl Dunn and I am a fellow photographer and the director of “Everybody Street“, a feature documentary about NYC street photographers who have taken some of the most iconic images of the last century. Whether you take pictures with your phone or a Leica, you will relish
the opportunity to hear the real stories of the men and women who are the very foundation of the street photography movement and of the medium itself. These include, to date:

  • Bruce Davidson
  • Joel Meyerwitz
  • Mary Ellen Mark
  • Max Kozloff
  • Ricky Powell
  • Martha Cooper
  • Jamal Shabazz
  • Bruce Gilden
  • Clayton Patterson
  • Jeff Mermelstein
  • Rebecca Lepkoff
  • Boogie
  • Luc Sante
  • Jill Freedman
  • Josh Wildman

The film, shot in 16mm and in HD, and with a score by NYC Band Endless Boogie, takes you into the studios and out onto the streets where you will see firsthand the working techniques of these incredible artists as they unfold in the theater of New York City. Many of my subjects have never been documented before, remaining instead hidden behind their cameras……

THANK YOU!
